Demi Moore is staying hopeful as she navigates her ex-husband Bruce Willis’ health challenges, including his ongoing battle with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.

During a recent appearance at the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival on October 13, the 61-year-old actress opened up about Bruce’s condition. “You know, I’ve said this before. The disease is what it is,” Demi said, as reported by People. “I think you have to be in real deep acceptance of what that is. But for where he’s at, he is stable.”

Demi, who shares daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, with Bruce, emphasized her approach to coping with his illness. “What I always encourage is to just meet them where they’re at,” she shared. “When you’re holding on to what was, I think it’s a losing game. But when you show up to meet them where they’re at, there is great beauty and sweetness.”

Despite their 2000 split, Demi and Bruce, 67, remain close. Bruce remarried in 2009 to Emma Heming Willis, and the blended family, including Emma and Bruce’s daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, frequently spend time together. Demi reflected on their continued bond, saying, “I was there two days ago with my granddaughter,” referencing Rumer’s 17-month-old daughter, Louetta. “Being able to share with whatever we have, for however long we have it.”
