The viral leak involving Baltasar Ebang Engonga, the former Director General of Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), has sparked widespread controversy. The scandal initially centered on Engonga, who was implicated in over 400 explicit videos with various women, including relatives and wives of prominent figures, uncovered during a fraud investigation. These videos, filmed in diverse locations such as his office and public spaces, led to his arrest and dismissal from his position.

Adding to the controversy, a separate video allegedly involving Engonga’s wife surfaced online, reportedly showing her in an intimate encounter with another man. This development intensified public attention and debate on social media platforms like X and Telegram.

Posts on X, including one from @vdmempire, highlighted the emotional toll on a husband who claimed to have spent over $35,000 on his wedding, only to discover his wife in a compromising video with Engonga. Another post by @AfricanHub_ echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the personal betrayal felt by affected spouses.

One woman, identified as Cristina, spoke out in an interview with Television de Guinea Equatorial, claiming she was Engonga’s partner for four years. She alleged that the videos were recorded with the understanding they would be deleted after viewing, and she has since filed a complaint against him for their unauthorized release.

Additionally, reports indicate Engonga’s wife appeared in court, covering her face to avoid cameras, amid the circulation of her alleged video.

The Equatorial Guinean government, prompted by First Lady Constancia Mangue Obiang, has called for measures to curb the spread of these videos to protect the dignity and privacy of those involved.

Telecom companies have been ordered to take action to limit further dissemination. The source of the leaks remains unclear, raising concerns about privacy breaches and unlawful data access.
